Create a Custom Subscription Schedule #
To create a custom Subscription Schedule, from your WordPress Dashboard, go to Woocommerce > Settings > Subscription Schedule.
- Enter a title for the Custom Subscription Schedule.
- Select the Renewal Dates for the Custom Subscription Schedule and click Save Changes. The added dates will appear underneath the Select Date input. There is no limit to the amount of dates that can be added to the schedule.
- Next, go to Products, select the desired product. In the Product Data, meta box find the Schedule setting. For simple subscriptions use the drop-down to select a schedule and enroll the product in the Custom Subscription Schedule.
Setting Up Variable Products #
Variable products require each variation to be assigned to the Custom Subscription Schedule.
- To assign each variation to the Subscription Schedule go to Product > Variations and open the variation
- Under Schedule select the Custom Subscription Schedule and save the changes. This action will need to be completed for each product variation that will follow the subscription schedule.
- To not charge a customer at checkout for the first order (total will be set to $0.00) and the first charge to occur on the next subscription schedule renewal date check the box “Do not charge for first order.”
All renewals for products added to the custom subscription schedule will adhere to the schedule defined in the renewal dates section. If you wish for the schedule to end after the last renewal date and not renew on the same dates of the following year be sure to set an expiration date on your subscription at the product level.
After creating a new schedule be sure to test the Custom Subscription Schedule in your store.
